(Soaking Agent)

POPLIX BW accelerates the soaking and liming process of both salted and dried raw hides and skins and provides adequate protection against bacterial damage which may occur during soaking

SPECIFICATIONS

Appearance : Colourless and odourless low-viscosity liquid.

Chemical Nature : Combination of an organic sulphur compound,

wetting agent and a bactericide.

pH (1:10) : 9.5-11.0

Charge : Anionic

Stability : Stable to acids, alkalis and salts under usual

tannery conditions.

Solubility : Miscible with water in all proportions

PROPERTIES:

Accelerates the soaking process by its good wetting properties.

Prevents from bacteria growth even in prolonged soaking process.

The effect of soaking enzymes is not affected.

It exerts a particularly active effect on soluble proteins, blood and grease residues.

APPLICATIONS:

Salted raw hides and skins are presoaked to remove the dirt and then depending on the both length and the soaking time, they are soaked in a fresh both containing 0.3-0.7% POPLIX BW and about 0.3-0.5% Soda Ash calculated on the salted weight. The temperature of the both depends on the soaking time and should generally be maintained at 25-30ºC

In pre-soaking ———- 0.2-0.3%

InMainsoaking ———– 0.2-0.4%

Dried Hides

In pre-soaking ———- 0.3-0.5%

InMainsoaking ———– 0.4-0.7%

STORAGE:

POPLIX BW has a shelf life upto one year at temperatures between 10ºC -40ºC. At temperatures below 10ºC parts of the product can crystallise. By heating upto room temperature and agitation the crystals dissolve again.
