Dispersing and Bleach Tanning agent for vegetable tanned leather

POPTAN SL-2 is a synthetic tanning agent for bleaching vegetable or retanned leather to a pale colour. It is particularly suitable for bleaching sole-sandal and vegetable tanned industrial leathers.

TYPICAL ANALYSIS:

Apperance: Light beige colour powder.

Chemical Nature: Naphthalene sulphonic acid condensate.

Concentration: 96%

pH of 10% soln: 1.8-2.0

PROPERTIES

POPTAN SL-2 is a bleach tanning agent in powder form readily soluble in water. Due to its high dispersing effect of vegetable extracts it favours penetration and speeds up tanning.

POPTAN SL-2 is stable to iron and does not give rise to discoloration. It removes iron stains formed on vegetable tanned or retained leather.

APPLICATIONS:

POPTAN SL-2 should be used in vegetable tanning (2-5% on pelt weight), alternating it with the vegetable extracts.
